I just did my head gasket and timing belt. I need to know what can I do about a coolant leak from the "engine coolant outlet flange". I think it is also referred to as the "water outlet". This is the part number 19315-p08-010.

I thought it would have a gasket but I do not see one. Not sure how to move forward on this.

you can always make your own gasket if you want to out of karropak or the like. I'd guess that there is some corrosion there and the mating surfaces are no longer, well, mating...also could polish the surfaces up on a piece of flat glass with some fine grit sandpaper stuck to it.

 

I found this "MAHLE Original C31392 Engine Coolant Outlet Gasket". I wonder if this will seal it. I it would be nice to have some glass but I do not. It feel like to metal surfaces should have a gasket if there is high pressure and temperature liquids traveling by. I have gasket making paper. But that is about as reliable as finding WMD.
