How hard could it be?
I just found out that I blew a head gasket and I going to have to do it myself. I have a 93 civic dx, I have changed head gaskets on old domestic cars but not on an import. Is this something I can do with a chilton's or should I leave it to a professional?
not hard at all.
you can cheat on the timing belt by slipping it off and then when you get back to putting it back on, can turn it down in the back and slip it back up and over the cam sprocket.
have to get yours arm and yourself behind it.
i use "white-out" to put a dot mark on the belt and a dot mark on the cam sprocket.
if it has been smoking, then can check valves and do valve guide oil seals.
good luck.

Well if you have done it before why not try it on the civ? The only time I touch engines is when I turn it on... so I always have a mechanic do it everyting
