ya wont be able to.... go try playing with it...
if you LOCK down the shifter rod you wont be able to remove the key.... it locks it in the accessory slot and wont unlock to turn off!

your preaty much screwed unless you wanna do ALOT of custom/ghetto work ..... youll have several locking cylinders youll have to disable...

just return it and get the PROPER **** with the button...

 

pardon my ignorance, i just didn't know in the first place what a gate-type shifter was...i thought it was just what i had...

it says Automatic right on the box, im not complaining about a manual **** because this is designed for automatics, just not my civic.. thanks for the help

I got mine a while ago from jcwhitney... it looks almost exactly like a manual shift **** with the exception of a button in the top. Unfortunately, I can't find it anywhere.
