I sucked up water in to my engine and my engine locked up. got the car towed home and got the water out of the cylinders and started the engine there is a ticking sound that gets a little quieter after a few mins. i did a compression test on it last night and got: 1: 115 2: 150 3: 190 4: 205. what do you guy think is wrong do i just need a valve adjustment do i have a bent valve or worse.

 

#1 is significantly lower than the other 3. There could easily be damage to the engine. You can start with a valve adjustment and see if the tick goes away. You might also try doing a leakdown test to see if the compression improves on that cylinder.

 

Ya i did a leakdown the compression didnt raise very much it went from 115 to 125.

 

Make sure the rocker arms go slack when the valves are supposed to be closed. If not, adjust the valves. Possibly it's a bent rod, piston doesn't go all the way up any more, thus low compression.
