I think my engine, blew up :(
Hey guys,
Basically, I was driving to the airport to pick my Mum and Dad up, going down the motorway, when all of a sudden a loud sort of bang shook the car and I had absolutely no power whatsoever to the engine. I pulled over and got the car towed back, but (i have tried uploading some pics) it looks like a gear from the cam belt has sheered through it's casing. The RAC bloke said he had never ever seen this on a honda.
What I'm wondering is how do I go about fixing this and realistically is it worth it, I would be trying to do it on a budget.
Anyway here are the pics, thanks in advance.

Supprising that it still runs. Maybe the gear somehow broke or the bolt came out. Assuming there's no valve damage, you should be able to fix that with a few parts from what I think is called the "breakers" over there. Of course put a NEW timing belt on.
Yeah the bolt that holds down the Camshaft either was loose & spun off or just plain broke...but that's just based off the pics. But I'm still trying to figure out why there would be a loud bang?
P.S: Man..when was the last time you cleaned the engine bay? Cover the distributor & alternator with plastic bags & spray away baby!
