ok, well i got 400 bux comming to me that has to go on my car. It cant be aftermarket stuff, only the basics to get it running at its best. I know i need a valve adjustment, but i was wondering what else i should do. The timing belt and water pump is over 400 so thats out of the picture untill probably december. what do you reccomend to get a long life out of it? i was thinking of putting my ****ty steelies back on it (not the ones im currently working on, those have brand new tires, but the other ones i have) and getting tires put on the quote, just so i will have them as a backup. brakes might need to be replaced soon, but anything else that i can do to get her running smooth? my plan was to get new suspension with it, but i really want to make sure the motor is running good before i do anything else.

Timing belt is less than a $150 job to do it yourself. If it's overdue, better find some way to get it done before it strips and wrecks your engine.

Timing Belt is important and if yours is OEM or has not been change in years I would suggest doing so.

Valve adjustment is something you can do yourself. Look on Youtube, there are videos. All you need is a feeler gauge.

Haynes manual's usually are a great help and I also turn to internet DIY's as well.
