Default idle

ok i have a 93 del sol with a B16A swaped in my problem is that when i start up when i let it set over night or enough time to cool it ideles real high till warm like 2k high then if i run it hard even for a short time it has trouble starting back up i foudn if u pump the key a few times she fires up and goes with out a problem any suggestions?

I think that you might have a bad check valve in the fuel system. The check valve is suppose to stop fuel from going back into the gas tank on the supply side. If the check valve is bad, the all the fuel will go back into the tank. When you goto crank your car over there will be no fuel in the line so you will have to crank it more in order to get fuel up to the injectors.

as for as stopping and trying to restart - i have had that for about 2 years.
i would check the efi/main relay first; here is the best info i found on that:

if that is OK, it could be a leaking injector

as for as the high idle - i would take off the iacv and spray it out with carb cleaner and after letting it sit, dump that out and spray into it some wd-40. if you turn the car off with the high idle, and then start it right back up, is it off of the high idle. if that is the case, it may be the ecu. there are troubleshooting techniques for the iacv in Haynes (and i guess in chilton's)
