Default idle low and other issues

how do i set the idle up on my 92 civic LX? it seems like its going to die only idling like at 500 rpm.

why wont the power locks work? the fuses are all good. is the switch bad maybe on the drivers door?

and will changing my a/c to the new stuff make it colder? it is not very cold.

To adjust idle: Disconnect IACV plug. Start engine. Turn idle screw on throttle body until engine reaches desired RPM. Turn off engine. Reconnect IACV plug.
A/C: Adding more refrigerant will only help if your A/C is low on refrigerant. If your A/C is low, then there is a like. First find the leak and fix it then refill the refrigerant.

Also check behind the grill opening for a factory installed plastic sheet. Yeah, it help protect the fins of the condensor from getting gummed up and bent from road stuff, but it also restricts airflow through the condensor. Pull that plastic outta there and your condensor will work better, which will also help your A/C cool better.

Setting the idle up slightly will help as well, because when the compressor is turning high rpms, the A/C system works better.

If your rpms are 'normal' when the A/C if off, and drop significantly when the A/C compressor kicks on, your IACV is most likely bad. I just replaced mine (bad IACV and similar A/C issues) and it made a world of difference.

Get an A/C tech to help you check the system and possible refill it. Trying to figure that out yourself without the right A/C tools is just going to make things worse.

Hope this helps.

Make sure the engine is up to normal operating temp before doing this^

Yeah, when wam it should be at 700 RPM at idle, sans A/C.
