Just bought 03 civic EX cruise control doesn't work
Hey guys,
Just wondering if someone here can help. I tried to search but did not find any info on the cruise control issue. I did not test this when I test drove the car because of local driving. When I'm the Highway go 65mph, I the cruise button and then the "set" button on the steering wheel. Nothing happens! I tried at all speeds except under 25mph because I know it does not work. Can anyone tell me where to look to troubleshoot issue? Could it be a fuse or loose cable or something. Let me know if any one else had the same issue with 2003 civic with 40K miles. Thanks

Your issue could be vacuum related. The "servo" (the rubber diaphagm part under the hood that is connected to the actuator rod/cable) is controlled by engine vacuum to accelerate/decelerate/hold speed steady. If the vacuum line to it is missing, torn, cracked, etc. then replace the vacuum hose. This has happened to be before, but it was a Buick Regal, not a Honda. All cruise controls are very similar in design and function. Does the light on the dash illuminate when you engage the cruise? Do you seethe powerlight on the cruise button on the dash (meaning cruise is turned on and available)?

I checked the line and it seems fine and I check fuses 4 and 10 underneath the steering wheel as someone mention before. They were fine. The cruise control switch lights up but when I try to set it going like 55mph it doesn't engage. Could it be the switch on the steering wheel?

I just installed a new cruise control switch on the dash board and as well as the steering wheel switch. I tried it again and still does not work. Any body has any other suggestions?
