Just did a swap - running into issues
I have an Acura Integra - LS, we just bought a fresh new LS motor ( and holy **** does it run strong ), however i am running into some serious issues.
1st. The fan isnt working to keep the motor cool, i was driving it home and was hella over heating, got home and poped the hood, ran a direct line from the fan to get it to turn on, cool the motor within a couple of min. Why is the fan not turning on? everything is connected.
2nd. The alternator. The belt makes a constant screeching noise, loud too. and i am progressivly loosing lights around my car. First the head lights went out, then the tail lights went out as did the lights for my cluster... Is it the belt that needs to be replaced, or the alternator or what? because i am slowling loosing electricity to things. We pulled out the AC and power steering before we dropped the new motor in. everything else runs strong, the timing might be off a tad too because the idle is around 1600-1700.
anyone help me locate the issue and how to fix it?

1. Did you try jumping the plug attached to the t-stat housing to see if the fan itself works? Might just be a bad sensor there, which is like $20 bucks to replace.
2. Sounds like a seizing alternator to me. You can take these in to most Auto shops and have them tested, I suggest doing so.
Does the idle surge at all? How long does the idle stay that high? Make sure the motor is mechanically timed correctly, then set your idle, then set your timing.
