Leak
hi evryone im new to this forum, i seam to have a problem with my 2008 honda civic vtec sport!! after driving to work this morning a friend came in a hour after me and told me he'd noticed water coming from under the car, i have been looking under the car and the water seams to be coming from a small pipe at the back of the engine! i have read that this could be somethin to do with the a/c! i have driven the car twice since n both times had the same problem! the liquid is def water and is clear and has not other colouration! i also tasted a little on the end of my finger and it taste just like water to? please help me with this problem thanks Jamie
If you didn't use your air conditioner, the water is probably condensation in your exhaust pipe. This is why it is important to drive long enough to "burn up" moisture in the exhaust and oil. Fresh air enters the engine to make up for crankcase air that is recirculated through the intake. That air can have moisture in it and is typically burned off when the oil reaches a high enough temperature (190F or so).
Daily short driving trips can allow the oil to retain the moisture, creating sludge.
So, don't worry about the water as long as you at least occasionally drive at least 15 miles one way.
