Default locking doors

hey guys and girls.

wednesday night my friend and i were coming home from a rockies game and when i put the key in the lock and tried to turn it but it would not turn at all. same happened with the passenger side. luckily the trunk worked so i climbed in the back and was able to unlock the doors. i thought that it was just because it was freezing cold outside. but then i tried it the next day it was like 80 degrees but the key still wont turn. any ideas on how to fix this?

you may have a sloppy tumbler (a part inside the lock). When you have the key in the lock, to unlock the car, try turning it with the key not all the way in the lock, have it out SLIGHTLY. When locks get older, they get a sweet spot.

could be....... ALSO a good idea is to use a small screw driver to open up the key flap and spray in some WD40 or somekinda lube spray to spray inside thier then take off the door panels and spray all the linkages and back side of the lock, door handle assembly..

over time they get dry and stick alot easier.. my old 86crx had a similar problem with the key lock and linkage inside at times... sprayed it down with some WD40 real good and never had anymore problems... just spray it down and then work the linkages and key locks good.

OR if ya still have problems then look into some power locks and keyless entry systems i put that in my crx and never used the key AGAIN!!!!! they have pleanty of cheap door lock kits i got mine off ebay awhile back.. preatyy easy to instal and wire up with a few skills

Yes, I totally forgot, look at the dust covers on the locks. Do they close all the way?? If enough dust gets into the lock it will bind up. So it's always good to keep your key as clean as possible. That's along the same lines as, "Don't go from the stink to the pink, only go pink to stink."

OR sometimes i noticed, if you have a spare key thats been cut from some place... if you put it in all the way it wont turn, so you have to put it in almost all the way.... sounds weird but im sure someone else has had this problem. lol put it in all the way and back it out just a hair. IF thats what it is.
