Default Loose shifter

You know how in most cars, the shifter feels nice and tight when it's in gear? In my 94 dx, it just kinda flops around like it's in neutral. It doesn't fall out of gear or anything like that, so I'm not too worried about it. Am I missing some kind of rubber bushing or something that's supposed to keep the shifter stable? Thanks for helping, and have fun finding inuendos in this post...

It's just like that. They have to have it like that becasue not everyone wants a tight notchy, sporty shifter. Get some new poly shifter bushings. That should tighten it up some. If you want to get a short throw, it's a major improvement.

i have a 99 si and i have a short throw. the lever vibrates when ever i coast. i took it to my buddy whos a mechanic and he said it was because of the aftermarket header pipe and exhaust. i have a dc sports 4-1 header and a dragonfire muffler. does this happen to any of you other HCFers?
