loss of power
I have a 95 civic with 123k miles. After I had some work done on the a/c I noticed while driving during the day there is a noticable loss of power going up hills. At night, the symptoms dissapear. I had the car tuned up and still the problme presists.
Can someone point me in the right direction a) whats wrong and b) how to correct it.
Thanks!

RE: loss of power
Thanks, I have not had that checked yet. I need some info so when I talk to a mech. they dont take me for a ride and say I need to replace everything under the sun.
Is this expensive? Can it be done yourself?
Thanks

RE: loss of power
probably stating the obvious, but when you have the a/c on it steals horsepower because it has to power the compressor. Did the a/c not work before (so you didnt ever use it) and now you are using it? Thats the problem.
Also, cars tend to run alot better at night because the air is cooler, meaning you can fit more in the combustion chamber at once, bla-bla-bla. those fixes are free... just turn off the a/c

The a/c was working, but died. There wasn't a huge gap in time that I did not use it. I thought this might have been the problem and tried many times, turning off the ac while going up the same hill, and then leaving it on another time. The results are the same.
This was done both during the day and the night.
As for cars working better during the night....Do you think the difference in preformance would be this dramatic? The temp. difference is at the most only 10 degrees.
Thanks
