Default Lowered Civics

so, my 98 civic sits 2.75 in. in the front (measured at bottom of bumper) and my floor jack will not go under the tow hook. this is a problem because i need to change my oil....now i have heard of people driving up on 2x4 and what not to get up a little more, but whats your methods? its geting cold here in ohio, so ill prolly just take it to a shop where the people are under the floor for this time, but i dont trust other people so ill be doing it myself in the future....
thanx

you need to drive up onto something, whether it's blocks of wood, homemade low ramps, or something like this

or this
