maintenance required light reset.
i have close to 89k miles on my 02 lx civic sedan. my question is how do i reset the light that its on?? im planning on doing the maintenance once it hits 100k plus, for tune-up. light kinda bothers me a lil, and i know it says on manual, but that its when the light its blinking i guess, right?

Isn't there a slot to push the key into on the gauge cluster??? Thats how it is on my 98 EX anyway. You push the key into the slot and hold it for 5-7 seconds and that resets it.

dude, that maitnece light counds down for you oil change, dont wait 11k miles for an oil change. unless you want to buy a new engine.....just dissconect the batery as was said, i belive thats how you do it on that year, but windcalmer, do you really have to hold yours? my 98 you just push it in and its done, its a counter thing exactly like the trip OD. but with color instead of numbers. and teggys have a button under the dash....just thought i would let every one who didnt know, know.

You could disconnect the battery, then lose all your radio stations and all that fun stuff, or you could follow these easy instructions:
1- put key in ignition but don't turn yet
2- push the tip/dimmer button in
3- while holding the button in, turn key to the last position before starting
4- keep holding the button for about 10-15 seconds, or until light goes out
That resets the oil health.. they are supposed to do it when they change your oil, but if it is someone who doesn't know that or if you do it yourself, here's how ya do it - at least that is how I've done it on my 02 DX.
