Missing part. Is this important?

Default Missing part. Is this important?

I am missing the breather cap on top of the shift lever assembly pictured here:

I looked at auto parts stores for the part and no one seems to carry this. Google is turning up dry as well.

Is this important? If so, where can I buy one?

have you tried looking online at a honda service website? they might have the part.

Or you can just go to your local junk yard and get one, if not you can put a rubber tubing on it and curve it side way to prevent debris from falling into it.

Oh, I thought there might have been a small filter that goes on it. If it's just to keep debris out I'll probably just do that rubber tubing idea. Thanks.

There's no filter, it's just to keep water from running into the hole that faces up. Like the other guy said you can just put a U-shaped piece of tubing on with the open end facing downward.
