91 hatch seems my peddel goes all the way to the floor i still stop but is that norm or smething i can do to fix this ?

 

check the brake fluid you might have air in the lines

 

Don't keep driving like that, it is inevitably going to get worse and at some point you won't be able to stop.

If it stops more or less normally, but the pedal keeps sinking as you continue to press on it, that is either the master cylinder or a fluid leak. You would notice the latter because it will run out of fluid.

 

flued is toped off but i did just have the calapers haning for awile while i did trany work so i should just try to bleed them ?

 

If you didn't open any brake lines, you should not need to bleed. After reinstalling, pumping the brake pedal several times will bring the pads back against the rotor. But it wouldn't hurt to try.


For the future, realize that on a '91 2 wheel drive Civic, you don't need to remove the calipers at all to pull the transmission out of the car. Take the lower ball joint apart on the right side. Swing the wheel (caliper and all) out away from the car and you can pull the axle out of the transmission. Leave the axle attached to the wheel. Swing it down and to the back so it is not in the way of removing the transmission. On the left side, simply pop the axle loose from the transmission; you don't need to do ANYTHING at the wheel. When you move the transmission to the right to remove it, the left axle will naturally come out.

 

yea i wish i join the fourm b4 i did all that un nessary work lol b4 i took the braks and stuff of they were hard but when reinstaled they were sloppy i looked for leaks and all and found nothing toped off the master but it hasent droped so i guess thats my last resort is to blead them ?

ya definatly just bleed the system. its pretty easy.... makes it alot easier with a clear hose to put on the bleeder valve and tape the hose up HIGH on the car so any air bubbles that come out will naturally raise in the hose instead of being so easily sucked back into the system! and pedal slowly. and every 5-10 pumps of the pedal check and top off your brake fluid! DO NOT LET THE FLUID RUN EVEN CLOSE TO DRY! or youll have to restart completely!
