need help
i have a 94 civic 1.5 vtec the car runs fine when not in gear i put it in gear let off the clutch the car bogs down and dies i need help dont know what to try dont want to spend alot of money trying to figure it out
ok let me tell yall the whole story i had to redo the head gasket took the heads to the shop had them fixed (had a few bent valves) i replaced all the gaskets we i cranked it i heard a vacuum leak its coming from the throttle body there are two holes in the side of the throttle body its coming from the top one witch leads to the iac valve i replaced it still has the leak all the hoses are running to thr right place i dont know what it could be the car will run fine not in gear you can press the gas and it stiil runs fine but you put it in gear let off the clutch it will go but if you push the gas it dies
Those "leaks" sound like you're talking about the holes in the side of the throttle body before the throttle plate, that are designed to let air into the engine while it idles. It is normal for air to be sucked through those holes.
Two things could easily cause this related to taking the head off: wrong cam timing, or sensors plugged in wrong. Note that the MAP and the TPS have the same type of plug. The one with the solid white wire goes on the MAP. Is the CEL on?
