Need Help with my vtec!
my honda is a 95 civic ex with a stock d16z6 vtec motor.
im swapping the motor to a d16y8 motor which is also a vtec motor but its a 96 civic ex motor, can i use my vtec from my z6 to my new y8 motor? im asking if i can use my vtec from my 95 z6 motor on my new 96 y8 motor. im asking because i dont want to use his because on my harness its not the same. so im wondering if i can use mine because mine has another connecter to it instead of 1 connector like the y8 motor

It'd be simplest to change just the engine itself, keep all the wiring and other parts stock from the '95 car (so it'd still be an OBD1 system). The manifolds will fit. The 1998-2000 D16Y8 heads have extra holes in the intake side but a 96 or 97 doesn't.
