I have a 2002 civic ex SOHC with 84000 ,miles. my car check engine light just started blinking and i have full range of rpm and then about 20 seconds later the engine light stops blinking and remains on and my rpms top out about 2500 rpms and my a/c is not turning on, and my cluster shuts down. I just did a service on it and also replaced the belts and put gas treatment like i always do every other oil change.I tryed scanning the car for a trouble code and came up with link error in the middle of scanning. I also used my mechanics scanner and his finds no trouble codes but also does not reciecve half of the information.Any ideas.

 

Check all electrical connections, particularly the ground wires. I think they are still on the thermostat housing where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine. You're not getting good power and ground to the ECU if it's not letting you read the codes. Or it could be the ECU itself.

 

you think that will cause my a/c compreesor to stop working as well..
someone also told me to it could be bad gas.
or see if i can reset the ecu somehow.

 

Blinking CEL meansthat the ECUdetected engine misfire, often caused by bad spark plugs or coil packs.
