Post In Need of Maintenance Manual for 91 Civic Sedan 1.5L

Hello,

Does anyone have any good references to some "Online Official Honda Manuals". I found one on AutoZone's website, but it turns out it's basically a Chilton's Manual... In my opinion... pretty worthless if you really need to get your hands dirty.

I know I heard that some libraries carry them, but if I can get it online... well that's just so much more convenient, isn't it?

Thank you thank you!

Hi RonJ,
I'm not sure if you didn't notice, but I have a 91 EF... I know the 88 is still an EF. It's probably fine... I think my Chilton's Manual is for 88-91... so maybe it doesn't matter.

I've downloaded them both though...

I pointed you to the 88 Honda Civic factory service manual because all 4th generation Civics (1988-1991) are very similar. In addition, the 88 Civic manual that you download has soooooooooooooo much more detailed information that does the Chilton manual, which is quite superficial. Compare the two manuals. Afterward, I think you'll find only occasional use for the Chilton manual.

I'm at work and I've yet to dive into the Downloaded Manuals, but I agree with you... I don't think Chilton's or Haynes or whatever the other one is called are the way to go if you plan on doing more than changing a light bulb.

It was the same when I had my BMW... I bought a Bentley Service Manual that killed the Chilton ones... I still have it. So any Bimmer Addicts that might be browsing this site for some reason. I've got a brand spanking new Bentley Manual for a 86 325e (e30 series).

Anyway... thank you so much for the pointers and leading me in the right direction. Happy Blogging!

So I checked out the downloaded manuals... very very nice. Thank you to all that pointed me in the right direction. I can see that I will be using them for a lot of things in the future... however... as extensive as they are... unfortunately they still fail to give me what I need at this moment... so now I'm turning to the real experts... you guys.

Since what I'm asking has nothing to do with manuals anymore... may I ask that on readers please visit the thread that I posted on the subject: "91 civic sedan 1.5L **Clutch Not Engaging** " found here:

Thanks for your help guys.
