Default need some help with the car

well im new here and to the honda world me and the wife have a 95 civic dx two door with the 1.5 vnon vtec motor i belive it is the b14 or 15 not really sure. but we have a pretty bad oil leak i am pretty sure is from the head gasket im going to check it out this weekend. but i was also wondering if i can change the head on it to get a little more power out of it, we go up and down hills going to and from work and would like something with a little more power as every thing else we own has v8s in them.

if it's the original engine it's the d15. has there been any issues with overheating or any coolant in your oil? chances are if your oil isn't contaminated, your head gasket is probably not the source of your oil leak.

No oil in with coolant and no coolant in with water at least as I have seen so far and never even comes close to over heating. The leak seems to be coming from right where the head meets the block on the back side. Also does anyone know if you can swap a gauge cluster from a 96 with tach into my 95 without

You cannot swap a 96-00 Civic cluster into a 92-95 without extensive wiring and custom fabricating for fitment. Just wondering, why are you asking about swapping a new cluster in?

Take a picture of the leak. Make sure the picture if far back enough that we can see motor parts around it. It could be the distributor O-ring. That is what I will guess for now.

You can use a 92-95 cluster with tach, it's an exact fit.

Leaking oil above the oil filter could be the sensor or the head gasket, there is an oil passage through the head gasket in that spot. VTEC engines are prone to leak at the VTEC solenoid on the back of the head near cylinder #4, but if you're sure it's the stock engine it would not be VTEC.

As far as I know it is stock it does have a cover over the where the v tech solenoid goes or at least that is what a buddy told me it was. I didn't know they had a gauge set with a tach every one I have seen has been without. I will have to keep an eye outfit one.
