Default Need some help with my A/C

Hey everyone...I posted about this before but I couldnt find the posts in the history, so here goes. Ever since I retrofitted my A/C from R-12 to R-134A, when I turn it on, it will start getting cold for like a couple of minutes. Then it will start squalling really bad and then the compressor will start kicking in and out every few seconds. It will keep doing this over and over again until I shut it off. It gets even worse if I fill the freon to the point to where there are no bubbles in the sight glass. I put a new expansion valve/orifice tube in cause thats what was believed to be wrong at first but evidently wasnt. I asked when I was at Honda yesterday for their 40-point inspection thing and they said most likely the clutches went out of the compressor and I would need a new one as well as a accumulator or dryer or something like that. What else could be wrong? As to if I need to buy a new compressor, would I just be able to get one from like a 94 or 95 out of a junkyard that already was made for 134A and would it bolt right on to the rest of my current A/C setup? Its a 93 EX Coupe...1.6 VTEC of course. Thanks for any help u guys might be able to give.

After you did the conversion did you have your system evac'd? You cannot mix R12 with R134.
I don't see why you couldn't use a later compressor made for R134. You should also replace the receiver/dryer.
After putting the parts on take it to a shop and have them completely evacuate the system and reinstall R134.

Yea I did...but the guy only put enough freon in the system to where it wouldnt make the noise and kick in and out, which it didnt get very cool at all. Ill get the compressor and receiver/dryer when I can and then have it evacuated and filled and hopefully it will work this time!!
