Default Need some Help with my first CIVIC

Hey,
Well i just got a 98 ex Civic, and i have a problem with. When the car starts, it runs (idles)at 1400-1500 RMPS and when it warms up, it starts to gas like if someone is pressing the gas peddle, it starts Reving up and down from 1300- 2100, (while ideling). I put it into gear and it just keeps on doing it. Not sure what is wrong, but if you have any suggestions, please let me know. (Anything will help)
Thanks

Well i live in Oregon, but when the engine is cold its fine and when it warms up it just starts reving up and down by it self.... The weird thing is that when you stop at a stop light and its in Neutral it does the same things. So when people look at my car they think iam reving it up. Because i have Short-ram intake.
But if its fine then i wont even bother with it....
Thanks!

yeah that's really probably not fine

my friend had the same problem and it's one of three things

-you're low on antifreeze
-there's bubbles in your fuel rail
-you need to clean some of your sensors off or replace them

you might as well try them in that order as antifreeze is the most obvious and easy

the bubbles in your fuel rail, you would want to try and jack up the front right end and let it sit that way for a while to that the bubbles will all float up

and last you'd want to take off your throttle position sensor and clean it off same with the uhhh.... i can't think of it's name but the other major sensor that's right there

I am new to civics but the tps or the Idle air control valve sounds like good bets. try unplugging the IAC and see what it does

There might be air in your coolant too. Bleed it out with that bleeder by the thermostat, but the most likely culprit is the IACV. You may just need to clean it out. Take it off and run some carb cleaner through it, otherwise you may need a new one.
