New problem with my clutch or tranny
Okay so I was late for thanksgiving supper this weekend and caught a rabbit going 170 km/h on my highway so I matched his speed for the 30 mins drive...then after that my clutch felt like it wasn't engaging until i pushed it in quite far....like it felt really light until it was 3/4 the way in.
Then today I drove home to my city 2 hours away and it worked fine until I came into the city and went to take it out of 5th, I pushed in the clutch and it did nothing at all. I tried downshifiting and the clutch just wasn't there..but i rev matched and down shifted and up shifted a couple times, pumped the clutch a few times, and got it back to working just being soft for the first 3/4. It's not slipping at all In 5th going up a steep hill at 80 km/h it won't slip or anything..so I'm lost, any help would be much much appreciated!

Exactly. If you find it is out of fluid, look for the leak. If it still has fluid but the clutch doesn't release, it can be a bad master cylinder or (more rarely) trouble in the clutch mechanism.
Ok so yes it was low..is there supposed to be just a loose little cap in side the res? I think it's leaking down into my interior from where the pedal goes into the master cyl..the hose from the res in the engine bay looks dry, just isnide where the rod goes from the clutch pedal into the firewall its leaking a bit there. Just need a new master cyl do you figure?
Yes a new master cylinder should fix it. You might also pull back the boot on the slave cylinder and see if there is any sign of leakage there, if there is consider replacing both cylinders while you're at it.
There is supposed to be a loose rubber piece in the reservoir, it would float on top of the fluid if you had any. I think it has something to do with trying to keep the fluid from absorbing water.
