Default Noise: squeek and clunking

Hey guys, looking for some trouble shooting tips.
I was driving my girlfriends 2006 Civic SE 2 days ago and there is a noticeable noise that is getting progressively worse

When accelerating it has a light squeezing sound (consistent)
When slowing down it has a repetitive clunking. Clunking is faster at a higher speed and slows when decelerating.

It seems to me that the clunking only happens when the engine is breaking and stops when I hit the breaks. But I'm not a car guy.

Any tips?
