Default occasional near stall?

Today My engine sputtered and almost stalled out in parking lot while i was coasting or lightly accelerating around 10 mph. It did it twice today. Both times I pulled over and restarted it, and it was ok for the most part.

It has happened twice before, once 4 months ago and once 2 months ago, but I'm worried that its getting worse, happened twice today and almost happened again.

Any idea what the problem could be? No CEL, and no other oddities that I've noticed.

any suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Stock engine in 2000 Civic, right? What model? AT or MT?

Was the engine hot or cold?

When was the last basic tune up (plugs/wires/cap/rotor)?

Have you already tried cleaning the IACV?

I dont think that it stalled, but it seemed like it was going to so I pulled into a parking spot both times right away.

stock engine, LX, automatic

The engine was pretty hot, It was 80 today and I was driving it hard all morning.

I have had the car for about a year, I have never gotten one

yeah, I had some Idle problems a few weeks ago, It was dropping to 4 or 500 rpm at idle so I tried cleaning the iacv. It helped, but not much. Now When im idling for a long period, I just turn the headlights and the blower on and it idles normal. not sure if this is fixing the problem but it makes me feel better

Did you already try adjusting the idle screw on the throttle body? This procedure requires a tach or scan tool to measure accurately engine rpms. The dash tach is inadequate for this purpose.

nope. could I rent the tool from autozone? or would I have to go to a mechanic?

If I can rent it, is their already a thread on adjusting the idle screw to the right position?

Call some auto parts stores about renting or borrowing an OBDII scan tool that reads engine rpm.

See my previous post.
