i have a 95 civic lx. when i got it i went to check the air filter and there wasnt one.so my boyfriend and i went through all his parts and found a cone filter and a couple of elbows. we couldnt get that to reach were it is supposed to go so he said just to use one of the elbows and it would be fine. so i have this really short intake with a filter on it. is that ok?? its not even half the length it should be and sits in an odd spot. forgive me but my knowlege of cars doesnt really extend past 1970 or so

 

pictures would be appreciated, but as a temporary fix, you should be fine.

 

yeah sorry, i just got it and havent taken any pics yet. its in pretty rough shape. the guy who gave it to me got in something like 4 wrecks and didnt ever change any fluid or do any kind of maintenance on it. kinda embaressed for it right now,hahaha.

no you wont have any problem with it being right off the manifold, a guy i know just stuck a filter right on the throttle body and has been driving it like that for quite some time now. You wont get any advantages from it because it is right by the engine, but you will be fine dont worry.

just thought id post a pic anyway. you can also see alot of the damage and the front drivers corner is just so cramped. it amazes me this thing still drives. everything just got moved to the side a bit, haha!

 

It is ok but don't expect more power because it will be sucking hot air.

 

yeah i figured that. i just dont want the filter getting too damaged from sitting there or anythin. ill get a proper intake as soon as i can.
