Ok today I took out the coil cause I thought I had another one that was the same but it turned out to be different so I put it back together and the car started and ran find...

I know the starter is good, had that checked while doing the swap not long ago

i previously checked the grounds and cleaned them and the battery posts

so as of right this second the car is running but I'll see if it starts tomorrow morning to get to work, thanks for the help, I still don't know what the problem is, I'm thinking short somewhere or loose wire maybe???

i just checked this relay, i think its the same one your talking about and its good
http://techauto.awardspace.com/mainrelay.html

so so far i know the main relay is good, starter is good, plugs are new, distributor cap and rotor are new, coil is good, im getting fuel to the fuel rail

but when it doesnt want to start its not getting spark but still getting fuel to the rail...but sometimes it starts after i try to crank it over a couple times and after it is running, if i can keep it running and warm it up it has always started if i shut it off as long as it is still warm

i really need this fixed but im stuck, thanks for all the help, please keep it coming lol

and one more thing that never got mentioned by anyone, the contact points on the distributor cap got corroded after only 100 miles, is that normal? i wouldn't think they would after that short of time... maybe this is a clue to something above my knowledge or maybe nothing but figured i would mention it

also check your fuse box under hood, make sure all the screws that hold the square fuses down are all there and tight.

ok after checking everything in the dissy and it all testing good, i went to a local garage to see if they had parts i could swap to try to find the problem cause i know the guy that owns the garage and by super luck they had a crv that they were working on that had the same exact problem and as i got there there were just starting the crv and said it was the igniter and thats my problem, and as it turns out the igniter in the b18 dissy is the same as the one in the stock motor that i just swapped out and had it laying around so i saved the $120, thats what the garage just paid for the one they replaced, and the car started right up and been driving good since! thanks for all the help but like i said i tested it and it tested good but was not so thats a good lesson i guess, i hate electronics and even more so when the problem is on and off so it sucks finding the problem
