Please help hunting idle
Hey guys new to this . 1998 civic lx auto d16y7 just did a y7 to y8 intake swap and I'm getting a bad idle surge . swaped the intake manifold gasket . changed the throttle body gasket to a new y7 one replaced pcv valve . made sure to bleed the coolent system . checked the idle control valve and even blocked it off, ( seemed to work until it warmed up) no check engine light on just dont know what else to do please help

Are you running a y8 auto or manual. If you running a y8 auto you don’t need to use the y7 throttle body gasket burn if you are running a manual and running the y7 throttle body yeah yu need to running the y7 gasket. You can tell the difference because auto doesn’t need to be blocked off in the back because same as the y7 iacv on the throttle body.

That’s good I still can’t figure what to do with my problem I have a y7 in my 98 ex usi my same wire harness and intake from the y8 I’m trying to figure out what to do I’m still obd2 and wanting to use the p2e ecu but It won’t idle I need to switch harness’s and I guess run the y7 throttlebody and block off the back where the old iacv for the y8 would be. But I don’t have a way of doing that so I was wondering if I could use the iacv and just plug the part where the hoses go for it.
