Default Problem starting sometimes...

I noticed like a month ago that my car was taking longer to start... like it cranks longer just to start... and finally today after school... the car took really long to start... and it started and it stopped after 5 seconds.. and It wouldnt start anymore.. so I kept on trying till it started again... and it was about to die but I pushed a little gas and it stayed on... Does any1 know what the problem could be and how much it would cost to fix it..??

The car is a 93 civic si (not Vtec) automatic with 280000 km on it...

i'd probably check the bettery first to see if its bad. if thats fine,if u havnt had a tune up done lately, i'd get that done. fuel filter, spark plugs, rotor, cap, spark plug wires. before u do that tho, i'd run something like SeaFoam to clean the injectors and lines.

Someone said something about a DIY. If i were you id read up on that first....

Im pretty sure there are multiple ways of doing it. Id just look up some ways and see which one you feel most comfortable with, if you do find it... maybe post a link. Id like to know as well.
