Guys at the shop (they only work on Honda's) think it was the distributor. I went ahead and changed it (did it myself) and so far the codes for the mis-fires haven't come back yet, but the cat code did.

Not sure I want to invest the money for a scanner, as the parts store 30 seconds from the house will read the codes for free.

just got the p0420, on mine on thursday night, thinking of just trying to replace the secondary o2 sensor, cause if i gotta change the cat. i would probably replace it anyways. edit, o2 sensor for mine says $95.85.

got a dx, so the cats expensive.
Must be nice My O2 is $120-130 and I found the cats around $193 and the cats for the DX are more obviously because your getting a new manifold too

no, hijack, but i reset the ecu in my car earlier today, drove it around for 30 mins no cel. drove down to the partsource, an offshoot of crappy tire. from them a secondary o2 was $165. and get this, the cat/manifold was $656... the secondary was from a website i bought a primary from a year ago.

i phoned up partsource back in the day, and asked them about a free scan, there was a big negative on their part.

was in there looked at the scanner i bought for 70 shipped on ebay, they were selling for 200 no bull****!
