Default Radio reception problem

Hello Guys,

I got a '03 that was damaged by water when it was new. It has a salvage title but has never given us any trouble over the past 5 years. The only thing that bugs me is the radio reception. FM is not very good and it won't get any AM. The radio is aftermarket and I'm pretty sure they put it in correctly. I believe that the antenna setup might water damage but I don't know for sure. There is no tenting on the windows.

Anyone got any ideas how I can get better reception? I don't mind rigging something up if it will work. Seems like it should not be too hard to make it work but I have no idea about radios.

Thanks,
Joe

Pull the radio out and check whether the antenna plug is disconnected from the rear of the radio.

They also sell antennas that you can put across the windshield

A new antenna is not very expensive from the dealer, after ruling out the obvious stuff like the wire unplugged it's worth trying.
