Default Rear Bumper Removal, 2003 civic EX sedan!

Hey everyone,

I'm not from around these parts (Mazda6 owner here), but my girlfriend drives a 2003 Honda Civic EX sedan. Today, for some reason (I think she didn't pull the parking brake hard enough, nor did she leave the car in gear) her car rolled away from its slightly inclined parking spot at work and ran into a parked Trailblazer. Minimal damage to the Blazer, but her rear bumper (passenger side) has been punched in. Luckily, the paint did not seem to chip, although it is visibly stressed in some spots. Since the rear bumper is plastic, I think we can push the dent back out, but we will need to get the bumper off to do this.

The passenger side of the rear bumper, where it meets the fender well, popped off of the clips that hold it on there, so I can see what type of clips they are, but I'm just not sure how to go about un-clipping the other side (which is still fully attached) without damaging the paint or something.

Can anyone help me out here, or at least point me to a good resource for this? I figured I would ask the question amongst the experts here first, before I drop 17 bucks on the damn Haynes manual.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!

-steve

i wouldnt even try to get the bump out the paint will ship off if it hasent already, but they are held on by severl bolts underneaith and several screws in the wheel well, There are lots of clips all around the outer edge that you have to unclip by pulling hard on them/using a clip removal tool, pull hard works too

I back into something on the driver corner and it busted part of the tail light. The bumper did pop out from the light to the fender well. I was able to snap it back into place on the horizontal part but the clips are broken where it curves up by the light. Try to snap it back. Other than that, I don't know. the front bumper is a breeze. I need to get the back off so I can fix it. If I fugure it out, I'll post it. I've hit three out the four corners of my car d***it. Back into hauling trailer dirver rear, Pasng. rear recycle bin, and driver front golf cart. One to many that day. The one on the front popped a softball size dent in it and I popped it right out. No chipping on the front or rear.
