Default Rear Defroster fix

Hey guys, the top part of my rear defrost isn't working (this is on a 2003 civic 4 door). I already looked through all the forums, and thought I was ready to fix it, but there is still a snag. Ok so first I determined that it wasn't the fuses. I got the permatex kit with the conductive epoxy. I got the repair manual. I tested the lines with a voltmeter, and figured out that its the top 3-4 lines that aren't getting juice. I figured I'd check and see if the top connector is ok, but I can't get the plastic cover that's over the connector. This is the one on top of the rear glass where the headliner ends. There are 2 slots on either end, with what look like inset tabs, that are kind of small and youd have to pry at them with a screwdriver or something. The manual doesn't say how to remove that piece, and I dont wanna use too much force because there is small wires and connectors under there. Anybody know the correct way to remove it?
