Hi, I have a '99 Civic LX and the rear door handle on the passenger side stopped working. I took off the panel, peeled back the plastic, and can see exactly where it disconnected. There's a plastic grommit of sorts that is supposed to be connect to the handle but it popped out. Getting this thing connected is incredibly difficult. I looked at the manufacturer's manual and it doesn't help... it says to unscrew the latch and remove the door handle, but the bolts in there are deep and obscured by the window rails. Can anyone offer advice? I can grab it but I can't seem to force it back in because there's so little clearance...

 

It's an absolute pain to get out and in......I've had to this on both of my LX's back doors (not to mention both my old DX's doors).

Did you take out/move the child lock stuff out of the way?
