Default Rear windows don't work 2003 Civic

Both rear power windows have stopped working.

Mechanic suggests that it could be broken wires in driver's door or possibly door jam.

Any suggestions as to where to start?

Pain in the *** 😄
Yes, driver side door is problem. If you don't friendly with soldering don't start that and you must remember where all wire go. My first fix is be with fender off but on passenger side I fix with door of and it's easy.

Found the problem

This has occurred to a few people on this forum from what I saw from searching. I live in Canada and it seems that the wire insulation disintegrates at the rear door flex point, probably during our cold winters.

The best solution would be to replace the rear door harness which plugs in at the door jam. While I was able to pull a couple of the plugs through the door boot, I'm sure the larger connectors are not going to fit without ripping the rubber. So my solution will be to cut the connectors off and resolder them once through the boot. The harness is $34 here in Canada and this is one item I would not advise getting from the scrapyard as the age of the wire insulation seems to be the problem.
