Remote Keyless Entry
I have a 97 and on mine the Keyless entry is tied in to the stock stereo. I've read here that if you replace your stock radio you should leave the stock unit hidden under the dash and connect it with a "Y" adapter to the new unit.
I bought my Civic with the aftermarket stereo already installed so I am screwed unless I go with an aftermarket keyless entry.

I have a 96 EX coupe and I just installed a new H/U myself. I had to keep the stock radio in the car for the keyless to work. Not sure about your year. I know that after a certain year, you didn't need the stock radio to keep the keyless feature.
nope... 99 still works
when i got my 99 it already had a aftermarket radio and keyless entry. it worked fine!
i even added another keyless entry remote control. and swaped the radio also..... stock radio isnt back thier
