Default Replace CV Joint and Now It Leaks

A week ago I replaced the passenger side CV joint on my 1996 manual transmission Civic. I noticed some seepage in my driveway this morning, and sure enough, transaxle fluid is seeping out where the hub of the CV joints inserts into the transaxle. The hub has locked in as far as I can tell, and I can't press it in any further, though there is some play. It's a brand-new part. I didn't use any metal tools when I inserted it, so I don't think I damaged the seal. Suggestions?

You may of nicked the seal when reinstalling the axle. That happened to me. Replace the trans axle seal.
