Default Replacing brake shoes, replace spindle nut?

Just got my Haynes manual in the mail, was going to replace my drums, shoes and springs this weekend. The books says that removing the wheel bearing cap will make the job much easier, if I do this, do I need to replace the spindle nut? It says the nut is "staked", and should be replaced, is this something I really need to do, or can I reuse it? Need to make sure I have ALL of my parts before I start! FYI 96 lx d16y7

I just did the same job on my 96 lx. It is a piece of cake without removing the hub. Just use bolts in the threaded holes on the drums to force them off. The springs and shoes come off easly once you remove the retainer clips.
