Default Replacing Stereo Few Questions

Hi, I have a 2006 Coupe EX model, and the stereo cd reader or loader recently broke and its beyond repair, so my only chance is to replace it and I want the original one, my first guess was to buy a 2006 stereo, but I know that models 2007 on have an easy AUX entrance and its not necessary to buy an adaptor, which would help me a lot, but the guy at the dealer tells me the stereos have different connections or plug ins between models, and I dont know if this is true since they are exactly the same size in the front and im guessing in the back as well, does anyone have any advice or experience in this?

Im planning to buy the stereo from a junkyard so I dont want to pay for nothing, the stereo is the normal one, without navigation and without satelite radio.

Thanks!

It is very possible that the different years have different plugs in the back. There are ways around the problem. If you get the head unit from the junkyard, make sure you take the wiring harness (at least 6" of it) You can then buy the harness adapter for your current car and just wire them together. (you will need the wiring diagram for the new head unit. But this is if the plugs are different or more importantly wired differently.
