Default reverse light not working

just got a 97 honda civic coupe w/ si taillight swap. There is a harness hanging from the roof of the trunk, and it's likely they're the culprit in me not having reverse lights. I've looked low and wide for where it goes but no avail. Anyone got a clue?

Check the fuses. And lets see some pictures of this haning harness. If it has a bulb socket on it and looks like it's not plugged in then thats prob it.

did you look at the trunk locking mechanism? A plug is supposed to clip into the very top of it.

yes, but there was a smaller plug there already. I compared it to the harness' on the other side, and it looks like it should be running toward the front of the car.
