Default Rough Idling on 99 Civic CX

The car only idles rough, once accelerating it's fine.

Recent replacements: tune up, thermostat, and distributor.

I'm thinking about cleaning the IACV? Any other ideas?
Check engine light is not on, and otherwise the car drives fine.

Welcome to the forum ashlauren.

When did these symptoms begin? After or before you installed these parts?

If after wards, I would check to make sure your timing is correct. If before, I would suggest to check the spark plugs and wires (if not done in the tune up which you stated), and clean our your IACV and let us know what happens.

In the tune-up, the timing was checked, and all new plugs and wires.
Also, the car does not always have the rough idle, only occasionally, about once/day (I drive roughly 65 miles per day, mon-fri).

I'm having similar problems. Once I accelerate there is no roughness. The car idles rough. I have considered replacing the distributor. I believe that it may have somethin to do with timing because it also skips sometimes when driving.. not sure. I definitely need to get a diag.
