Default RPM on a 2002 1.7 EX

I drove my wife's 2002 civic which has only 40K miles and noticed the engine revs higher than my 2005 Accord. At 55 MPH the RPM's are at 2300 and at 65 MPH it revs at 2700 RPM.
Is this normal? Seems high.

Yep perfectly normal. The EX's have different gear ratios to make them a bit sportier by keeping the rpms up at the expense of MPG. The engines are made to rev high so don't worry about hurting anything.

I'll be a happy camper if mine rev @ 2.7k rpm when doing 65mph

Yeah I'll have to look again but I think my '05 EX is over 3k when I'm going 65, I have a 5 speed though.

It's really nice when you need to pass someone, just step on it and off you go, no need to shift.
