Another quick way to see if your running rich is the smoke coming out of your car. I have a friend with a GSR motor and right when vtec ingages a small plum of smoke comes out the back. When i was running rich in my D16 the same thing happened. What octane are you using???

 

could also be valve float...

 

i think 93, whatever the highest is at the local pdq pump. You have to use higher octane in b16's because they r high compression engines.

 

Yes, it is unburned fuel that is causing it.. If any of you are NASCAR fans when you watch the cars go into a turn and back out of the gas it shoots flames out the exhaust and it is unburned fuel. Buddy of mine races late models and they do the same thing......

 

What have you done to mess with the fuel pressure?

 

nothing at all, My engine is bone stock with not cat, and an exhaust that leaks!!!!! I got a new catback on the way though.
