Setting Timng Tension on '03 Civic LX
I just replaced a timing belt on a 2003 SOHC 1.7 Civic LX. The manual talked about using a 3mm pin to hold the timing belt tensioner in place while the new belt was installed. Instead I unhooked the spring on the tensioner, installed the new belt, loosened the tensioner pulley bolt and reinstalled the spring. I then rotated the crank pulley several revolutions and tightened the tensioner pulley bolt. All the timing marks are lined up.
Is this the correct way to set the tension? Thanks.
