Default shaking steering wheel

I'm new to this but am eager to learn, since I plan to fix up my 2001 civic. I've been a bit negligent.

Wgen driving, the steering wheel shakes between 50-60 mph. Thought it might be low tire pressure but that didnt fix it.

Any ideas?

It may be you have one or more tires out of balance.

A tire that is not round will also do that. You can test that yourself by driving very slowly on a perfectly flat surface. Hold the steering wheel loosely and see if there is any "once around" wobbling back and forth.
