When i put my racing seat in, i had to unplug the plug in the bottom of my seat, now its off all the time. Still use the seatbelt though.

the passenger seat in my mazda3 has a sensor in the passenger seat.
if there is someone under a certian weight, it turns the airbag off, and if the person is above a certain weight, and not wearing their seatbelt, the airbag light goes off, and a seatbelt light comes on on the dash...

and if you ask me, seat belt chimes are getting more and more annoying.... its just the automaker's clever way of gettingu to wear your seatbelt...
eh, most of the time i put the seatbelt on when im pulling a car out of the shop, cuz it drives me nuts....

Why do people not wear seatbelts? lol. I thought it was cool not to back when I was 12. But it's just a habit now and it doesn't bother me at all ( I actually find it comforting). I mean I could see a reason if you were 400 lbs. and it doesn't fit around you......but even if your the best driver in the world all it takes is one drunk driver or any otherkind of a thousand possiblity's and instead of getting a little whiplash or headache, your getting skin graphs or decapatation....

I use to pick up dead bodies for the city. I have seen what happens to the human body that is unrestrained in a car wreck. I had to walk around for 45 minutes one night looking for a girls arm. The car rolled and she didn't have her seat belt on. They think she fell half way out the window of the truck and her arm got torn off.

Kids, keep your seatbelts on please. Seriously. Your not cool, you not daring, You are dumb if you don't buckle up.

Well... some of us don't need an annoying beep to remind us to put on the seatbelt. What a bunch of lame responses.

The question is... is there a way to turn off the chime without removing the wire and affecting airbag performance? You know, like a legitimate way to turn off the chime? Yes, or no? If yes, then how?

In my Dodge truck, there is a process (not detailed in the manual), where you put your key in the accessory position, and buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt three times, and then you get a chime confirming the seatbealt warning has been turned off. The truck still knows when I am wearing it, it just doesn't annoy me.

Does anyone out there know wheter or not an 05 Civic can do this?

Thanks,

Daren

PS. Yes. I know I should wear my seatbelt. Thanks.
