My 02 civic was broken into and they either tried to steal the passenger side seat airbag or they were just being destructive, anyhow, they slashed the seat back and mannaged to cut one of the ribbons. Now the srs light is on permanently. Can I replace the seat with a non side airbag seat and get the srs light to go away or is there any solution to repair the ribbon, or am i just screwed? any help would be appreciated.

 

im pretty sure airbags are a lot of money but ur able to replace the bags

 

I should have been more clear, I dont want new airbags...I just want to replace my passenger seat with a Non- airbag seat without my SRS light staying on permanently.

 

the cheap way is to replace the seat w/ a non airbagged seat.... and then to pull out the SRS light behind the cluster but its not the right or safe way, i would just get a nice set of racing seats, steering wheel, and dash tray to replace the pass. side air bag.... that would eleminate all air bags and u could take out the light then and be safe about it.... u could sell ur air bags to a body shop or online to help pay for the upgrades.... good luck....
